Aaron Judge Nears Return From Injury

2026-06-30 · Aaron Judge · Player Focus

Aaron Judge is nearing a return from his injury, with Yankees manager Aaron Boone saying he's still a couple weeks away from re-imaging.

Judge has been out since May 31, and the Yankees have struggled without him, dropping five games in a row, including a 7-3 loss to the Detroit Tigers on Monday.

The Yankees are currently 1.5 games back of the Tampa Bay Rays, with a 48-36 record in 84 games, and have gone 2-8 over their last ten games.

Judge was batting .248 with 53 hits, 17 home runs, 38 RBIs, 43 runs, and five stolen bases in 59 games before his injury, and his return could be a big boost to the team.

Boone said Judge is doing some lower body work in the weight room and is moving better, but they're not ready to re-image his injury yet.

The Yankees will continue to monitor Judge's progress, and Boone said they'll determine when he's ready to return to the field, with some fans hoping he'll be back by mid-August.

On Tuesday evening, the Yankees will host the Detroit Tigers for the second game of their series, looking to bounce back from their recent losses, and get back on track in the American League East.

Fans took to social media to react to the update on Judge's injury, with some expressing optimism about his return, while others were more skeptical, saying they'll believe it when they see it.

@vincelara said "We'd be lucky if he returns by mid-August", while @Teachspace1267 said "I'll believe it when I see it", and @RealDoubleM214 said "the way the team is playing currently he cannot comeback fast enough".
