Anthony Joshua Considers MMA Fight

2026-06-24 · Anthony Joshua · Player Focus

Anthony Joshua is considering a move to MMA, having already accomplished everything in boxing.

He returned to the ring in December after over a year out.

He is set to face Albanian contender Kristian Prenga on July 25th, before a big matchup against Tyson Fury later this year.

Joshua has hinted at walking away from boxing after his defeat to Daniel Dubois, but now plans to keep fighting until he's at least 40, and is open to trying out MMA for a crossover bout.

Joshua has seen the other side of a crossover fight when Francis Ngannou stepped into the boxing ring, with Joshua stopping him in just two rounds, and now wants to try his hand at MMA.

The former heavyweight champion believes it would be good for a boxer to step into the MMA territory, as it's big business and would be an interesting challenge, and he's willing to take on that challenge himself.

Joshua's potential move to MMA doesn't mean he's done with boxing, as he still has big fights lined up, including the one against Tyson Fury, but it does show that he's open to new opportunities and challenges.

Anthony Joshua has already spoken about his plans to keep fighting until he's at least 40, and a move to MMA could be a part of that plan, with the former heavyweight champion looking to stay active and competitive in the combat sports world.

The possibility of Anthony Joshua stepping into the octagon is an exciting one, and could lead to some big and interesting fights in the future, as the former heavyweight champion looks to take on new challenges and opponents.
