Brad Keselowski Calls Out Ford's NASCAR Strategy

2026-07-06 · Brad Keselowski · Player Focus

Brad Keselowski recently spoke out about Ford's NASCAR strategy, suggesting they may be giving up.

Keselowski commended Toyota for treating their teams as equal partners, providing them with the best engineering support and information.

He argued that Ford and Chevrolet have "favorite" teams that receive more attention than others, which has contributed to Toyota's dominance in the 2026 Cup Series.

Kenny Wallace backed Keselowski's comments, questioning Ford's commitment to NASCAR and suggesting that their focus may be elsewhere, such as in Europe.

Ford has struggled in the NASCAR Cup Series, with only one points win in the first 18 races.

Keselowski called on Ford to improve collaboration between its top teams, saying they need to "step it up and figure it out" to close the gap with Toyota.

He also traced the problem back to the rule changes that followed Furniture Row Racing's championship with Martin Truex Jr. in 2017.

The 2012 Cup Series champion believes manufacturers slowly shifted toward supporting one leading team instead of building equal strength across multiple teams.

Keselowski's comments come after a disappointing start to the season for Ford, with RFK Racing, Team Penske, Front Row Motorsports, and Wood Brothers Racing struggling to match Toyota's pace.

On 18 June, Keselowski said that Ford is in a "lull" and needs to improve collaboration between its teams.

He expressed hope that they can continue to innovate and find a solution to their current struggles.

The NASCAR Cup Series will continue to be a challenging competition for Ford, with Toyota's strong system and equal partnership between teams giving them a significant advantage.
