Bron Breakker’s WWE turn on Seth Rollins moved up months after injury forced change
WWE accelerated Bron Breakker’s turn on Seth Rollins by several months after Rollins suffered a shoulder injury on 25 May at Night of Champions, sources told the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
What happened?
The Vision faction formed after WrestleMania 41 when Paul Heyman betrayed CM Punk and Roman Reigns to side with Rollins. Rollins then added Breakker and Bronson Reed to the group. But Rollins’ injury during his Night of Champions main event against Cody Rhodes forced WWE to scrap a planned WrestleMania 42 showdown between Rollins and Reigns.
That injury also forced Breakker’s heel turn on Rollins weeks ahead of schedule. The original plan had Breakker’s betrayal penciled in for late April at WrestleMania 42. Instead, Breakker attacked Rollins on WWE television, removing him from The Vision as the storyline explanation for Rollins’ absence.
Why it matters for Bron Breakker
The accelerated turn was designed to elevate Breakker into WWE’s next breakout main-event star under Rollins’ mentorship. But Dave Meltzer noted in recent weeks that WWE’s booking may be shifting again. Oba Femi’s momentum suggests he could now be the promotion’s next top star, while Breakker’s push appears to have cooled.
Despite the change in direction, Breakker remains prominently featured on WWE television. He currently holds the World Tag Team Championships alongside Austin Theory after the duo defeated The Street Profits for the titles on the 30 June episode of RAW.
What comes next?
Meltzer speculated that WWE’s creative team could pivot again in the coming weeks. The company’s direction remains fluid after the injury-forced changes to The Vision’s original roadmap.
Breakker and Theory will defend the titles at WWE’s next major event on 28 July in Toronto. The duo’s first title defense comes less than a month after winning the straps, testing their chemistry as champions early in their run.
