Carlos Alcaraz congratulated Alexander Zverev on his first Grand Slam title at the 2026 French Open. Zverev defeated Flavio Cobolli in a blockbuster final on June 2026.

Zverev, the No. 2 seed, battled for four hours and 16 minutes to seal a 6-1, 4-6, 6-4, 6-7(5), 6-1 victory over Cobolli.

Carlos Alcaraz, the two-time defending champion, was forced to miss the French Open due to a wrist injury. However, he still followed the action in Paris and shared a warm message for Zverev.

Rafael Nadal penned a touching message for Zverev, hailing his “hard work and perseverance.” Nadal also congratulated Cobolli on his impressive run to the final.

“Congratulations, @AlexZverev on winning @rolandgarros! So well deserved after all the hard work and perseverance,” Nadal said.

“Congratulations Sascha for the title! You deserve it! @alexzverev123,” Alcaraz posted.

Billie Jean King highlighted the significance of Zverev winning a Grand Slam title while living with Type 1 diabetes. “Congratulations to @AlexZverev on his very first Grand Slam Singles title! He is also the first man with Type 1 Diabetes to win a major,” King said.

Zverev's victory marks a significant milestone in his career, and he will look to build on this success in future tournaments. The tennis world will be watching to see how he performs in his next matches.

Holger Rune, who has been sidelined since October 2025 due to an Achilles injury, expressed his delight for Zverev. “So happy for you @alexzverev123,” Rune posted.

Eugenie Bouchard and Taylor Townsend also reacted to Zverev's victory. “@alexzverev123 so happy for you,” Townsend said.

Zverev's longtime girlfriend, Sophia Thomalla, cheered him on from afar. Although she was unable to be in Paris to support Zverev in person, she sent him a heartfelt message.

The 2026 French Open will be remembered as a significant tournament in Zverev's career, and Carlos Alcaraz's congratulatory message reflects the respect and admiration he has for his fellow tennis player.
