Chase Briscoe Wins eero 400 at Chicagoland Speedway

2026-07-06 · Chase Briscoe · Match Report

Chase Briscoe won the eero 400 at Chicagoland Speedway on Sunday, leading 51 laps and crossing the finish line 0.276 seconds ahead of Christopher Bell. This victory marked Briscoe's sixth career Cup win and his first of the season.

Briscoe used a perfectly executed final green-flag pit cycle to claim the lead and held off a late charge from Bell to win the race.

The turning point came during the final green-flag pit cycle when Briscoe stopped one lap before William Byron and gained enough track position to claim the lead once the cycle was completed.

Briscoe led the final 46 laps and crossed the finish line just 0.276 seconds ahead of Bell after 267 laps around the 1.5-mile oval.

**Chase Briscoe** said: "What an unbelievable weekend. I feel so American winning in the Bass Pro Shops red, white and blue Toyota on Fourth of July weekend."

**Christopher Bell** finished second and said: "I just needed a little bit more time. They made a great adjustment and got the car driving great the last run. We almost went to victory lane."

The victory moved Briscoe from ninth to eighth in the championship standings, 226 points behind series leader **Denny Hamlin**.

Briscoe's win also secured valuable playoff momentum at the halfway point of the regular season.

The strong performance helped **William Byron** climb closer to the playoff cutline and maintain 12th in the regular-season standings.

Byron collected maximum stage points by sweeping Stages 1 and 2.

**Alex Bowman** rounded out the top five in another solid afternoon for Hendrick Motorsports.

Behind the leaders, **Bubba Wallace** finished sixth, **Ryan Blaney** seventh, **Ty Gibbs** eighth, **Corey Heim** ninth and **Riley Herbst** 10th.

The result produced a historic evening for Toyota, with Briscoe, Bell, and Hamlin leading a manufacturer effort that placed seven cars inside the top 10.
