Chris Dobey Wins Third PDC Title of 2025

Chris Dobey won his third PDC title of 2025 by defeating William O’Connor 8-6 in the final of Players Championship 33.

The final took place at the Robin Park Leisure Centre in Wigan, with Dobey claiming the £15,000 top prize.

Dobey started strong, with a 12-dart break in Leg Five to move 3-2 ahead.

O’Connor then won back-to-back legs to move halfway to victory.

Dobey squared the tie at 4-apiece in Leg Eight with a 17-dart hold of throw.

The match saw four straight holds of throw between the pair before Dobey moved within one of victory in Leg 13.

Dobey's 16-dart break of throw in Leg 13 was followed by a 15-dart hold to seal an 8-6 victory.

This win marked Dobey's ninth career PDC title.

The PDC Pro Tour season concludes on Thursday with Players Championship 34, where 128 players will compete for a further £125,000 in prize money.

The 64-player field for next month’s Players Championship Finals in Minehead will be confirmed after the event.

Dobey's win has secured his spot in the next major, a significant milestone in his career.

The Players Championship 33 also saw Quarter Final runs for Former World Champion Gerwyn Price and 2025 Development Tour Order of Merit winner Cam Crabtree.

Notable players like World Number One Luke Humphries and Former World Champions Rob Cross and Michael Smith were amongst the high-profile first-round casualties.

Dobey's road to the final included victories against Greg Ritchie, Rob Owen, Jeffrey De Graaf, Damon Heta, Nathan Aspinall, and Wessel Nijman.

O’Connor's run to the final saw him record victories against Robert Grundy, Michele Turetta, Andy Boulton, Chris Landman, Thibault Tricole, and Ryan Joyce.

The final began with four straight holds of throw between Dobey and O’Connor.

Dobey's win marked a significant moment in his career, solidifying his position in the PDC rankings.
