Chris Paul Launches Go Hoop Day

Chris Paul is launching a new global holiday, Go Hoop Day, to celebrate the sport of basketball.

Go Hoop Day is an international holiday that will be held annually on the fourth Saturday in June.

Chris Paul worked with Justin Leonard, owner of Game Seven Marketing, to create this holiday, which aims to give fans and players a reason to celebrate their love of the game.

The inaugural Go Hoop Day takes place on June 23.

Current and former NBA players will host clinics at gymnasiums and courts that had an impact on their development.

Chris Paul will host an event in Houston and has set up five other clinics at gyms in his home state of North Carolina.

Go Hoop Day is a chance for fans to come together and celebrate the game, with hundreds of millions of people across the globe playing and enjoying basketball daily.

Justin Leonard described Go Hoop Day as "a ball player's dream - a chance to say thank you to the game that has given us all so much".

Chris Paul stated that "basketball continues to grow globally every year and by creating Go Hoop Day as an international holiday we can give fans and players a reason to celebrate our universal love of the game".
