Meanwhile, Covington competed in Real American Freestyle Wrestling (RAF), where he defeated Arman Tsarukyan to become the inaugural crossover champion.

Why Covington wants a trilogy with Usman

Covington and Usman have a history, with their last fight ending in a controversial split decision win for Usman. Covington claims Usman is a 'fake person' and wants to settle their rivalry in the wrestling ring. 'He’s a fake person and he got his a-- beat,' Covington told The Ariel Helwani Show. 'We have unfinished business. If he wants to take a shot at this Cruiserweight Crossover World Championship at RAF, come get it.'

What’s next for Covington and Usman?

Despite Covington’s challenge, Usman has no plans to retire from MMA. The 39-year-old intends to continue fighting at either 170lbs or 185lbs, depending on the opportunities. UFC president Dana White has also backed Usman, stating that he still has what it takes to compete at the highest level.
