Conor Gallagher Eyes Transfer as Man Utd Prepares £26M Bid
Conor Gallagher is the target of a £26M bid from Manchester United, as the England star seeks more starting opportunities.
Gallagher moved to Atletico Madrid for £34M in the summer of 2024, after being pushed out by Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca.
He has since featured in 69 matches, scoring six goals, but wants more opportunities to start.
Manchester United are keen on handing Gallagher those opportunities, with journalist Fabrizio Romano stating a permanent transfer proposal could be accepted.
Romano said: "I think if maybe a permanent transfer proposal arrives, that would be different, maybe something around 30 million euros (£26m)."
The Red Devils are considering adding new midfield options, with Brighton's Carlos Baleba and Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton also linked.
Gallagher may become the frontrunner to enter United's midfield, which is set to lose Casemiro at the end of his deal in the summer.
The 25-year-old is still "very happy" at Atletico Madrid, but a transfer could happen in the January window or the summer.
Atletico Madrid previously rejected a loan move for Gallagher, but a permanent transfer could be different.
Manchester United's interest in Gallagher is clear, with the club seeking to strengthen their midfield.
Gallagher's future at Atletico Madrid is uncertain, with the player seeking more opportunities to start.
The January transfer window could be crucial in determining Gallagher's future, with Manchester United preparing a bid.
