2026-07-06 · Dale Earnhardt · Player Focus

Dale Earnhardt's legacy lives on as his former car, the black No. 3 Goodwrench Chevrolet Lumina, takes to the Circuit de la Sarthe at Le Mans.

The event, HSR NASCAR Classic presented by Goodyear, features over 30 historic NASCAR stock cars, including Earnhardt's iconic vehicle, which will be driven by Michael Parsons.

This showcase brings a unique American flavor to the legendary French circuit, blending NASCAR heritage with international motorsport.

The weekend also serves as a tribute to recognizable figures in the sport, with Earnhardt's car being a major highlight.

Competition begins on Friday with qualifying, followed by three races scheduled across Saturday and Sunday, featuring a diverse field spanning nearly six decades of NASCAR history.

Kurt Busch, a 2026 NASCAR Hall of Famer, will make his racing debut at Le Mans, driving his NEMCO-prepared No. 1 Monster Energy Chevrolet Camaro.

The event celebrates a major milestone in NASCAR's international history, with Jean Algernas driving the former Donlavey Racing No. 90 Ford Torino, one of the two stock cars that represented NASCAR during its first appearance at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 50 years ago.

Victor Corda and Chris Stillwell will field former Greg Biffle-linked Ford Mustangs from the 2009 season, adding to the rich history of the event.

The field will include other notable names, such as former NFL lineman Scott Dolfi, who is entered in a former Kyle Busch Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado truck once raced by John Hunter Nemechek.

The event also commemorates the 20th anniversary of the 2006 racing comedy "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby", with three entries featuring cars associated with the film.

Ryan Gemmell will drive the No. 55 Perrier Chevrolet Monte Carlo, while former NASCAR Busch Series champion Joe Nemechek will campaign a Cal Naughton Jr.-themed Toyota Camry.

IMSA President John Doonan will take the wheel of the iconic Wonder Bread-sponsored car made famous by Ricky Bobby.

The HSR NASCAR Classic presented by Goodyear promises to be an exciting event, with a mix of historic cars, notable drivers, and a celebration of NASCAR's heritage.
