Draymond Green Predicts Caleb Wilson as 2026 NBA Draft Dark Horse

2026-06-24 · Draymond Green · Player Focus

Draymond Green named Caleb Wilson as the dark horse of the 2026 NBA Draft, praising his athletic ceiling.

The Warriors forward made this statement on the Draymond Green Show in mid-November 2025.

Draymond Green said: "Darryn Peterson is an incredible player, but I would take AJ Dybantsa and the dark horse, Caleb Wilson."

He later called Wilson the sleeper of the draft and described him as the most special player in the class.

Caleb Wilson measured 6-foot-9.25 without shoes and had a 7-foot-0.25 wingspan at the NBA Draft Combine.

He averaged 19.8 points and 9.4 rebounds in 24 games for the UNC Tar Heels last season, shooting 57.8 percent from the field.

The concern is Wilson's shooting, as he hit only 25.9 percent from three, and his thumb injury ended the season early.

Draymond Green's view is easy to understand, given Wilson's combination of motor, length, and upside.

And his potential landing spots include Chicago at No. 4, Washington, Utah, or Memphis.

So the 2026 NBA Draft will be crucial for Wilson's future.

But for now, Draymond Green's prediction has aged well, with Wilson firmly established as a top-four prospect.
