Dusan Vlahovic open to Juventus return after contract expires

Dusan Vlahovic is reportedly ready to sit down with Juventus to discuss a new contract, just weeks after his deal in Turin expired. The 26-year-old Serbian striker is currently a free agent.

No club from Europe's top five leagues has made him a formal offer. That has pushed Vlahovic to reconsider his future in Turin, according to Tuttosport.

Vlahovic's contract with Juventus ran out at the end of June 2026. He was linked with Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich, but none of those clubs followed up with a concrete proposal.

The only offer on the table comes from Besiktas, coached by Vincenzo Italiano: Vlahovic's former boss at Fiorentina. But the striker wants to stay in a top-tier league.

Juventus, under former sporting director Damien Comolli, couldn't match Vlahovic's wage demands or signing bonus. New CEO Giovanni Carnevali hasn't reopened talks either.

“Personally, I have never spoken to Vlahovic. Anything is possible in football; there can be possibilities tomorrow that do not exist today,” Carnevali said at the end of June.

He added: “He is an important player, but today is not in our thoughts.”

That stance might soften. Juventus are still struggling to sign Randal Kolo Muani from PSG and have made initial contact with Parma for Matteo Pellegrino. They're also waiting for offers for Lois Openda and Jonathan David.

Vlahovic scored 68 goals in 168 matches across four and a half seasons with the Bianconeri. He joined from Fiorentina in January 2022 for a big fee but never quite hit the heights expected.

Still, he remains the highest-valued free agent on the market. His age: 26: and his Serie A track record make him an attractive option for clubs needing a striker.

Vlahovic has stayed in touch with some former Juventus teammates. He's directly called the club to explore a potential return, per Tuttosport.
