Dustin Johnson is now the only LIV Golf player who can still make the cut at all four majors in 2026 after a disastrous US Open for the league. The two-time major champion must qualify for The Open Championship at Royal Birkdale to keep his streak alive.

What happened at the US Open?

Johnson opened with a fast start at Shinnecock Hills on 18 June. But an eight on his second round ended his hopes of a second US Open title. He still made the weekend alongside Tyrrell Hatton, Joaquin Niemann, and Caleb Surratt. That left Johnson as the sole LIV player with a shot at all four major cuts this year.

Why LIV Golf’s majors record matters now

The US Open exposed how poorly LIV’s stars have fared in majors this year. Tyrrell Hatton was the only LIV player inside the top 30 at The Masters in April. Jon Rahm missed the cut at the US Open after a shaky second round. Bryson DeChambeau has now missed four major cuts in his last five starts. By contrast, Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler have won four of the last six majors between them.

Can Johnson still make all four cuts?

The 41-year-old is not yet in the field for The Open at Royal Birkdale. He could still qualify via Final Qualifying or DP World Tour events in Italy and Scotland.
