Fabio Quartararo has been penalized with a 10-minute suspension of the British Grand Prix’s opening practice session.

This comes after he disobeyed direct orders from the marshals during the French GP at Le Mans.

Quartararo crashed at Turn 14 during the French GP, which led to the penalty.

He was deemed to have disobeyed the marshals' orders, resulting in the suspension and a €2,000 fine.

The penalty will affect Quartararo's performance at the upcoming British Grand Prix.

He had started on pole and led for much of the French GP until his crash.

Quartararo will have to serve the 10-minute suspension during the opening practice session at Silverstone.

He will then be able to participate in the rest of the practice sessions and the race.

The French rider had been upbeat following the contest, despite the crash.

He said: “When it was starting to rain, I wanted to push like hell in the first laps.”

Quartararo continued saying he knew it was going to be difficult to finish on the podium.

He would have to push from the beginning, which he did, but unfortunately crashed.

The record-breaking crowd attendance at Le Mans was a highlight for Quartararo.

He said: “I think the crowd is crazy here, we can see from Thursday that they were full, they were supporting us.”

Quartararo offered his congratulations to Johann Zarco, who won the French GP.

He said: “Unfortunately from my side I didn’t win, but I can imagine the feeling of Johann and of course, congratulations to him.”

The French GP was a thrilling race, with Zarco taking the win ahead of Marc Marquez.

Quartararo had been in the lead, but his crash changed the outcome of the race.

Quartararo's performance at the French GP was impressive, despite the crash.

He had started on pole and showed great pace, which is a positive sign for the rest of the season.

The British Grand Prix will be an important race for Quartararo, as he looks to bounce back from the penalty.

He will have to serve the suspension, but then he will be able to focus on the race and try to get a good result.
