Federica Pellegrini Joins Milan Cortina 2026 Olympics Board

Federica Pellegrini has joined the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympics Board as a result of her election to the IOC Athletes' Commission.

She was one of four athletes elected to the commission in August and will serve a seven-year term.

Federica Pellegrini will join the board of the next Winter Olympics to be hosted by her home country, Italy.

With this position, Pellegrini becomes one of three Italian IOC members, along with **Giovanni Malago** and **Ivo Ferriani**.

She also becomes a member of the board of the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI).

Pellegrini had previously served as an ambassador for the 2026 Winter Games, helping unveil the event's logo last March.

Federica Pellegrini, 33, has competed at every Olympics since 2004 in a storied career, winning seven world championships and 14 European titles.

She announced her retirement from swimming following the International Swimming League season, in which she helped the Aqua Centurions qualify for the playoffs in sixth place.

Pellegrini's first post-swimming venture won't take her far from the Olympics, as she brings her experience to the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympics Board.

The five-time Olympian's election to the IOC Athletes' Commission has led to her joining the board, where she will work alongside other Italian IOC members.

Federica Pellegrini's career has been marked by numerous achievements, including being the first Italian woman to win a gold medal in the pool at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Her experience and expertise will be valuable assets to the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympics Board as they prepare for the upcoming Winter Games.
