Félix Auger-Aliassime Reflects on Wimbledon Loss

Félix Auger-Aliassime's Wimbledon campaign ended with a heartbreaking loss to Novak Djokovic in a five-hour, 15-minute quarterfinal marathon.

The Canadian tennis player fell to Djokovic 7-6(10), 3-6, 6-3, 6-7(4), 7-6(4) on July 8, 2026.

Félix Auger-Aliassime had enjoyed an impressive run at SW19, matching his career-best result at the tournament by reaching the quarterfinals for the second time.

He recorded straight-set victories over Alexander Shevchenko, Dino Prižmić, and Michael Zheng before surviving a five-set battle against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the fourth round.

The loss marked Félix Auger-Aliassime's second defeat to Djokovic in their three-match rivalry, with his only win over the Serb coming at the 2022 Laver Cup.

Félix Auger-Aliassime felt “dizzy” during his post-match press conference, but a day later, he reflected on the loss with optimism, saying he hoped the experience would help him produce a different outcome the next time.

The World No. 4 will look to turn things around and make deeper runs during the North American hardcourt swing, where he is defending 1,000 points after reaching the 2025 US Open semifinals and the Cincinnati quarterfinals.

Félix Auger-Aliassime wrote on Instagram, “In the process of trying to digest this loss, I find myself using it as fuel to bring myself back to moments like this again.”

He aims to learn from the experience and come out stronger in his next matches.

The Canadian tennis player is 25 years old and has previously advanced to the final four at the US Open twice, in 2021 and 2025.
