'Maybe the car is super good and there are still feelings that the sport is going in the wrong direction,' Alonso told *Racer.com*. 'I need to enjoy the category, the feeling of driving this power unit and these regulations.'

Aston Martin’s 2026 car arrived late to development, with serious work only beginning in mid-March 2025. The team has just one point this season-Alonso’s Monaco result-while Cadillac, in their debut year, has outperformed them. 'It will not only be how fast we are in Hungary,' he said. 'There are more things on the table. We also need to see some progress on the engine side as well.'
