Francesco Bagnaia named Sports Diplomacy Ambassador alongside Rossi and Biaggi

Francesco Bagnaia has been named a Sports Diplomacy Ambassador in Italy, sharing the honour with nine-time world champion Valentino Rossi and legends like Giacomo Agostini and Max Biaggi. The Ducati rider received the plaque on 14 July during a ceremony in Rome, recognising his role in promoting Italian motorsport excellence worldwide.

The event took place at the Moto D’Italia - Culture Beyond The Track initiative, hosted by Antonio Tajani, Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister. Bagnaia was joined by Marco Bezzecchi, his future Aprilia teammate, as both received their plaques. The ceremony also featured a display of the Desmosedici GP26, the bike Bagnaia races for Ducati Lenovo Team in MotoGP.

Bagnaia’s honour comes as Ducati showcased three bikes: the GP26, Nicolò Bulega’s WorldSBK-spec Panigale V4 R, and the Superleggera V4 Centenario Tricolore, Ducati’s most extreme road-legal model. The initiative aims to strengthen Italy’s global image through motorsport.
