Galen Rupp is gearing up for his 5th Olympic team. He wants to make it to the 2028 Olympics.
Galen Rupp has been on four Olympic teams and won two Olympic medals.
He took 13th in the 10,000m at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Galen Rupp started running in high school, winning the NIKE Border Clash as a junior.
He took second in the NCAA XC as a junior, leading his team to win at the 2009 NCAA Cross Country Championships.
Galen Rupp came through cross-country and attributes his early success to it.
In the 2012 London Olympics, Galen Rupp won silver in the 10,000m, behind Mo Farah.
He took 7th in the 5,000m at the same Olympics.
At the 2016 Rio Olympics, Galen Rupp took 5th in the 10,000m and bronze in the marathon.
Galen Rupp did not make the 2024 Olympic team, placing 16th in the trials with a time of 2:14:07.
He had surgery in the spring and is now focusing on his comeback.
