Gretchen Walsh Wins Big at NCAA Championships

Gretchen Walsh is heading to the 2024 Olympics, following in her family's footsteps.

Gretchen Walsh is a 21-year-old swimmer from Nashville, Tennessee, born on January 29, 2003.

She stands at 6-foot-1 and has been swimming since she was young.

Gretchen first garnered nationwide attention when she qualified for a national junior's competition in 2015 at age 12.

One year later, in 2016, she became the youngest swimmer to ever compete at the U.S. Olympic Trials.

Gretchen attended Harpeth Hall High School in Nashville, where she set national high school records in the 50m and 100m freestyle.

She currently attends the University of Virginia, where she dominates at the NCAA level.

This year alone, she won seven NCAA titles to help lead UVA to a fourth consecutive women's swimming national championship.

Gretchen's parents are Glynis and Robert Walsh, with her mother being a collegiate swimmer herself, competing for Boston College.

Gretchen's older sister, Alex Walsh, is also a swimmer and a Team USA member, with a silver medal in the 200m IM at the Tokyo Games.

The Walsh sisters joined forces to create a co-branded swimwear collection with a national brand.

Gretchen is a big fan of "Game of Thrones" and used to spend 12 hours every day at the pool during the summer when she was a kid.

As Gretchen prepares for the 2024 Olympics, she is expected to be a strong contender in the swimming events.

With her impressive records and achievements, she is sure to make a splash in the Olympic pool.
