Grigor Dimitrov Returns to Action in Dublin ATP Challenger 75

Grigor Dimitrov is set to compete in the ATP Challenger 75 tournament in Dublin, Ireland, starting on Sunday.

The 35-year-old Bulgarian tennis star, nicknamed "Baby Fed" for his one-handed backhand and stylish game, will be the main draw at the Elm Park Golf & Sports Club in Donnybrook.

Dimitrov, who has reached the semi-finals of three Grand Slam events, including the 2017 Australian Open and 2014 Wimbledon, will be looking to regain his top form after an injury-plagued season.

He was forced to retire from his fourth-round match against Jannik Sinner at last year's Wimbledon due to a tear in his pectoral muscle.

The tournament, which is the first of its kind on Irish soil in almost 20 years, is expected to attract a strong field, including players just outside the top 100 in the world.

Tennis Ireland chief executive Kevin Quinn said it's "brilliant" to have Dimitrov in the draw, citing his impressive performance at Wimbledon last year.

Qualification for the competition begins on Sunday, with main draw matches running through next week and the final taking place on Saturday, June 20th.

The tournament has already sold out, with fans eager to see Dimitrov and other top players in action.

Other notable players competing in the tournament include Frenchman Titouan Droguet, Italian Francesco Maestrelli, and American Colton Smith.

Dimitrov's participation is a major boost for the tournament, which is expected to attract interest from players who fall out of the early rounds at the Queen's and Halle tournaments.

The world number one junior, Ivan Ivanov, will also take part in the tournament before competing in the Junior Championships at Wimbledon.
