Hollie Doyle Recovering from Broken Leg Injury
Hollie Doyle has suffered a setback in her racing career after breaking her left leg in a fall at Bath last month.
The 29-year-old jockey was riding a horse that went wrong and was fatally injured, resulting in Doyle being taken to hospital with a complex fracture.
She underwent surgery to insert plates and stabilize her leg, but has been housebound since the operation.
Doyle's leg is still painful and won't be ready for weight bearing for another five weeks, but she's eager to start rehab soon.
She'll be visiting the Oaksey House Rehabilitation and Fitness Centre in Lambourn next week to begin her recovery.
Doyle has been watching races on television to keep her finger on the pulse and pass the time while she's sidelined.
She's obsessed with the sport and wants to get back in the saddle as soon as possible, having ridden 1,135 British winners in her career.
As of now, Doyle is focused on her rehabilitation and is committed to getting back to racing.
She had ridden ten winners in 14 days before the injury, climbing to fifth place in the Flat jockeys' championship.
Doyle will be back at hospital on Tuesday to have a boot and leg brace fitted, which will enable her to start some form of exercise.
She's looking forward to making progress in her recovery and getting back to racing, having finished two short of her target of riding a century of winners for the seventh year running in 2025.
Doyle's injury has been a significant setback, but she's determined to get back to her best and continue competing at the highest level.
