Iga Świątek Builds Calm with Lego

2026-06-29 · Iga Świątek · Player Focus

Iga Świątek, the world No. 1 tennis player, has found a unique way to calm her nerves while traveling the world. On August 23, 2024, she shared her love for Lego brick-building, which helps her focus on the present moment.

Iga Świątek told Forbes that she enjoys the process of building Lego bricks, as it helps her to be grounded, concentrated, and calm. She often travels with Lego, whether a finished set or a fresh box, in her carry-on baggage.

The partnership between Iga Świątek and Lego Polska started with a sponsorship agreement, where the brand creates special-edition sets just for her, from a replica clay court to her Tecnifibre racket. Andrea Faflíková, Lego regional senior manager, brand relations and events, said the connection has gone both ways, with the tennis star building aplenty and the brand inspiring creativity among her fans.

One of the most meaningful gifts from Lego was a birthday present, an entire clay court to represent both her four Roland Garros championships and where Świątek first practiced as a child in Warsaw. The replica featured 224 minifigures, many representative of her life, including her dad and sisters and fans with a banner reading “Raszyn rulez!” to celebrate her hometown.

The project took certified Lego builder Matthew Kustra and his two-person team nearly six months to create and build. While not available at retail, Faflíková says “through such sets we want to convey that imagination has no boundaries and that you can create anything from Lego bricks and rebuild it over and over again.”

Iga Świątek often finishes her Lego sets before the next trip, and she's gotten better at predicting just how many bricks she'll need to reduce the packing difficulty. With her true enthusiasm for the product, the partnership between the brand and tennis star is natural, and it will be exciting to see what's next for Iga Świątek and Lego.

Andrea Faflíková says the partnership is a unique and rewarding experience for Lego designers, allowing them to connect their creativity with the inspiring stories and values that athletes like Iga Świątek embody. As Iga Świątek continues to dominate the tennis world, her love for Lego will surely remain a constant source of calm and inspiration.
