Isack Hadjar Fights F1's Big Boys at Austrian GP

Isack Hadjar mixed it up with several world champions in Sunday's Austrian Grand Prix, finishing sixth.

He went wheel-to-wheel with seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton and battled with McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.

Hadjar started from eighth on the grid and felt he had the pace to be as high as fourth with the upgraded RB22.

He said it was his first proper fight with the "big boys" and that he had "good fun".

The Red Bull upgrade package paid dividends, with Hadjar confirming he felt the difference in the race pace.

He agreed that there is more to come from the upgrades.

Hadjar is encouraged by the progress made and believes the car can still improve, despite not being in the right window.

He finished sixth in the Austrian Grand Prix on Sunday.

The upgrades helped team mate Max Verstappen to second place.

Hadjar suffered brake issues earlier in the weekend, which affected him again in the race.

He had to take some margin each lap due to the issues.

The hot track temperatures and poor tyres also caused struggles for everyone around him.

Hadjar learned from racing with Hamilton, but didn't take away any specific lessons.

He felt he fought pretty well, but was a bit too kind with Lewis into Turn 4.
