Islam Makhachev Fights On As UFC Releases Thiago Moises

Islam Makhachev's first main event opponent, Thiago Moises, has been released from the UFC after 16 fights.

The Brazilian veteran had a notable run in the UFC, winning three fights in a row between 2020 and 2021.

Moises' UFC career came to an end with consecutive losses to Jared Gordon and Trey Ogden.

He was submitted by Islam Makhachev in their 2021 fight at UFC Vegas 31.
