Mannion also commended Hurts' ability to learn and adapt, citing his outstanding performance in meetings and his willingness to ask thoughtful questions. "Jalen's been outstanding in the meetings, and I think having gone through multiple coordinators and stuff, you can tell he's a really capable learner," Mannion said.

A new challenge

Hurts has had seven different play callers over six-plus seasons as a pro, and it will be fascinating to see how he performs in 2026 with Mannion calling the shots. With A.J. Brown and Kevin Patullo gone, Hurts is under pressure to deliver results.
