James Tedesco Considers Future Plans

2026-06-25 · James Tedesco · Player Focus

James Tedesco will decide his future after the 2027 season. The Sydney Roosters and NSW Blues fullback is currently contracted until the end of next year.

The 33-year-old has dealt with knee injuries throughout his career but remains in fantastic form.

Tedesco admitted to **News Corp** that he's no guarantee to sign another deal beyond 2027, putting talks on hold for now.

The Origin period is quite draining, according to Tedesco. He wants to stay fresh and will reassess in the off-season.

Tedesco has 288 games to his name and aims to clear 300 this year if he stays fit. He also wants to win a premiership.

The fullback won the Dally M Medal last year and was recalled to the NSW side this year after being overlooked for Dylan Edwards last campaign.

Tedesco came up with the match-winning play in Game 1. He will be in no rush to make a decision, with the Roosters likely to hold a spot for him.

His wage could reduce moving into 2028, with the fullback currently believed to be on seven figures. Tedesco will reassess after this year, considering his physical and mental health.

The Roosters will make a push towards September, and Tedesco's decision will be crucial to their success. The 25-time Origin player for NSW will take his time, and the Roosters will likely wait for his decision.

Tedesco's future is uncertain, but one thing is clear: he will finish his career at the Sydney Roosters. The question is, when will that be?
