Joey Logano ends feud with Chipper Jones after Atlanta reunion
Joey Logano finally closed the book on his bizarre public feud with baseball Hall of Famer Chipper Jones at Atlanta Motor Speedway on 12 Jul 2026.
Logano, the three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, ran into Jones during the Quaker State 400 weekend. The two shared a handshake and a grin before posting a single photo together. Logano captioned it “Officially Squashed 🤝,” signaling the end of their cross-sport spat.
The disagreement began at the 2025 Talladega Superspeedway race. Late in Stage 2, Logano’s teammate Austin Cindric failed to help in the draft. That let Bubba Wallace take the stage win while Cindric went on to win the race. Logano crashed out and finished last. Over the team radio, he unleashed a string of profanity aimed at Cindric.
The outburst went viral and drew Jones into the fray. The Braves legend blasted Logano on social media, calling the tirade selfish and celebrating when NASCAR disqualified Logano that day.
Logano fired back, questioning whether Jones had ever turned a wheel at Talladega. Within a week, Logano won at Texas Motor Speedway. Jones then praised the victory and called Logano a “HOF driver,” walking back earlier criticism.
More than a year after the first shots were fired, the two met face-to-face. The photo in Atlanta erased any remaining tension.
Logano’s next Cup race is the 20 Jul 2026 race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. He’ll aim to keep momentum after ending the Jones saga.
The reunion shows how quickly sports feuds can fade when both sides choose to move on.
