Justin Jefferson trade rumors: Raiders reunion with Klint Kubiak discussed

Justin Jefferson trade rumors have surfaced, with insiders suggesting a potential move to the Las Vegas Raiders. The speculation centers around a reunion with Klint Kubiak, the Raiders' offensive coordinator and former Vikings assistant, who worked with Jefferson during his early NFL career.

What’s behind the trade speculation?

The Raiders' interest in Jefferson stems from their need to bolster their receiving corps. Klint Kubiak, who coached Jefferson in Minnesota, reportedly sees him as a perfect fit for the Raiders' offensive system. The Vikings, however, have consistently stated they have no plans to trade their star wide receiver, who remains under contract through 2026.

Why would the Raiders pursue Jefferson?

Las Vegas is looking to make a splash this offseason after a disappointing 2025 campaign. Jefferson’s elite route-running and playmaking ability would give quarterback Aidan O’Connell a reliable target. The Raiders also have cap space to accommodate a potential trade, though acquiring Jefferson would likely require significant draft capital.

What’s next for Jefferson and the Vikings?

Despite the rumors, Minnesota remains committed to building around Jefferson. The team has invested heavily in their offense, including extending Kirk Cousins’ contract. Unless an overwhelming offer emerges, Jefferson is expected to stay in Minnesota for the 2026 season. The Vikings open their campaign against the Green Bay Packers on September 10.
