Kane Williamson Creates World Record In Test Cricket

Kane Williamson and Tom Latham have created a world record in Test cricket. They are the first pair of cricketers to play Test cricket in 12 different countries.

The record was set during their first Test in Ireland.

Kane Williamson struggled in the middle and departed for 36 off 70 balls.

Williamson is close to the 10000-run mark with 9497 runs in 109 Tests.

He is NZ's highest run-scorer in Tests and will become their first batter to breach the elusive 10000-run mark.

Rachin Ravindra and Tom Blundell rescued NZ after a struggling start.

They are nearing their respective centuries. NZ are 4 down for 229/4 after 64 overs.

Kane Williamson made his Test cricket debut against India in 2010.

He kicked off his career on a memorable note and slammed a century against the home team in Ahmedabad.

In 2021, Williamson captained New Zealand to a title win in the inaugural edition of the World Test Championship.

The Black Caps defeated India in the final.

Tom Latham also made his Test debut against India in February 2014.

He has 6261 runs in 92 Tests.

His tally includes 16 centuries and 31 half-centuries.

Latham is close to the 100-match mark.

The left-handed batter replaced Tim Southee as the Test captain in 2024.

Southee had replaced Williamson in 2022.

Captain Latham didn't have a memorable outing in his record-breaking Test, and he departed for a two-ball duck.

The four-day fixture is taking place at the Civil Services Cricket Club in Belfast.
