Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Hospitalized After Breaking Hip
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the 76-year-old NBA legend, was hospitalized in Los Angeles after breaking his hip.
He fell during a concert on Friday night, according to his business partner Deborah Morales.
The former basketball center had an accidental fall and broke his hip, Morales said.
Abdul-Jabbar was taken to a Los Angeles hospital, where he will undergo hip surgery, and Morales thanked the medical team and doctors at UCLA Hospital.
Abdul-Jabbar stands 2nd on the all-time NBA scoring list with 38,387 points scored, and was passed by LeBron James in February 2023.
The six-time MVP is receiving great care at UCLA Hospital, and Morales expressed appreciation for the support from the Los Angeles Fire Department.
It's not clear what concert Abdul-Jabbar was attending when he fell, but his business partner confirmed the incident occurred on Friday night.
