2026-07-07 · Kevin Harvick · Player Focus

Kevin Harvick was left in awe by Brexton Busch's speech at his father's memorial.

Brexton showed tremendous strength, speaking at the memorial service for his father, Kyle Busch, who tragically died at 41.

Kevin Harvick praised Brexton's strength, saying he couldn't imagine the guts it takes to speak at such an event.

Kevin Harvick was impressed by Brexton's performance at the Summer Shootout in Charlotte, where he led until the final lap.

Brexton is set to become the next generation of Busch drivers, with Richard Childress Racing suspending the use of the No. 8 car, keeping it warm for him when he's ready to try his hand at NASCAR.

Brexton has already been competing on dirt against Kyle Larson's son, Owen, and even against his own dad.

Kevin Harvick thinks it's great to see Brexton back at the race track, surrounded by kids, which can be healing for him.

The NASCAR world was stunned by Kyle Busch's passing, which came just days after he secured a Craftsman Truck Series victory for Spire Motorsports.

Kyle Busch's memorial service was held last week, with Samantha and Brexton in attendance, and Kurt Busch laying down eight flowers on the infield No. 8 in honor of his late brother.

Brexton's performance at the Summer Shootout left Kevin Harvick feeling bad for him, as he led until the final lap, but it was a great race to the checkered flag.

Kevin Harvick spoke about Brexton on 'SPEED with Harvick and Buxton', praising his strength and resilience.

The No. 8 car will be reserved for Brexton when he's ready to start his NASCAR career, with Richard Childress Racing releasing a statement saying no one can carry it forward to the level that Kyle Busch did.
