Kyle Larson Tops Practice Board at Qualcomm Circuit

Kyle Larson was the fastest driver in Friday's NASCAR Cup Series practice at Qualcomm Circuit, logging a 89.613 mph time.

Larson, the defending Cup Series champion, took the top spot toward the end of the 50-minute session.

The No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports driver beat out Todd Gilliland, who ran a 89.421 mph lap.

Ty Gibbs finished third with a 89.393 mph time, followed by Connor Zilisch and Carson Hocevar.

This strong practice performance sets Larson up for a good qualifying run on Saturday.

Larson will look to carry this momentum into the Anduril 250 on Sunday.

Qualifying for the Anduril 250 is scheduled for Saturday at 2:30 p.m. ET.

The 75-lap race will take place on Sunday at 4 p.m. ET.

Corey Heim, Michael McDowell, Shane van Gisbergen, Austin Hill, and Alex Bowman rounded out the top 10 in practice.

Van Gisbergen, Hill, McDowell, Gibbs, and Gilliland were also the five quickest on five-lap consecutive averages.

Larson's practice time of 89.613 mph is a strong indicator of his speed heading into the weekend.

The NASCAR Cup Series will continue to compete at Qualcomm Circuit on Naval Base Coronado near San Diego, California, on June 20 and 21.
