Lydia Ko joins elite field for 2026 CPKC Women’s Open in Edmonton

Lydia Ko, the three-time CPKC Women’s Open champion and 2024 Olympic gold medalist, will compete in the 2026 edition of the tournament in Edmonton. The event, set for August 19-23 at Royal Mayfair Golf Club, features a star-studded field including defending champion Brooke Henderson and world no. 1 Nelly Korda.

What’s the tournament lineup?

Joining Ko are five of the top 10 and 15 of the top 25 players in the Rolex World Golf Rankings. The field also includes seven of the top 10 and 16 of the top 25 in the 2026 Race to the CME Globe Standings. Other notables include Hyo Joo Kim (world no. 4), Miyu Yamashita (world no. 6), Ruoning Yin (world no. 8), Hannah Green (world no. 9), and 2025 runner-up Minjee Lee (world no. 12).

Why this matters for Lydia Ko

Ko, ranked 11th in the world, will aim for a record fourth CPKC Women’s Open title. She previously won in 2012, 2013, and 2015. The New Zealander’s presence adds prestige to the tournament, which also features two-time winner and defending champion Brooke Henderson. Ko’s rivalry with Henderson and Korda will be a highlight of the event.

What’s new this year?

The 2026 CPKC Women’s Open will include seven in-year winners, such as four-time winner Nelly Korda and Hannah Green, who claimed victories in the HSBC Women’s World Championship and JM Eagle LA Championship. The tournament will also benefit the CPKC Has Heart campaign, supporting the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation and other community charities.

Who else is competing?

Canadian golfers Maude-Aimee Leblanc, Leah John, and Savannah Grewal will join Henderson in the field. Exemptions were granted to Aphrodite Deng, the 2025 U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship winner, and Anna Huang, a two-time Ladies European Tour champion. The final field will be announced on August 14.
