Marc Márquez Blasts to P1 in FP1 at Brno

Marc Márquez claimed the top spot in FP1 at Brno on June 19, with a lap time of 1’53.303. The Ducati Lenovo Team rider fell late in the session but was unharmed.

The session started with crashes at Turn 9 and Turn 8, involving Pedro Acosta and Maverick Viñales respectively.

Marc Márquez set an early benchmark with a 1’53.599 lap time after just 10 minutes of action.

Fabio Quartararo finished second, two tenths off Marc Márquez's pace, while Raul Fernandez and Joan Mir made it four manufacturers in the top four.

Marc Márquez's brother, Alex Marquez, returned from injury and finished 18th, just 1.2s off his brother's pace.

Championship leader Marco Bezzecchi had a slow start, finishing 16th, while Jorge Martin suffered a technical problem and finished 14th.

The top ten was rounded out by Francesco Bagnaia, Fermin Aldeguer, and Luca Marini.

Marc Márquez's performance sets him up well for the rest of the weekend, as he looks to build on his double win in Hungary.
