Marcus Rashford offered to Roma as transfer saga heats up
Marcus Rashford has been offered to Roma as the Serie A side searches for a winger to replace Gian Piero Gasperini.
Roma is one of several clubs chasing Marcus Rashford this summer, according to Football Transfer News. The 28-year-old striker has also been linked with Tottenham and Napoli, among others. After a loan spell at Barcelona-where he scored 13 goals in 44 appearances-Rashford is hunting a new club that can offer Champions League football.
Rashford netted five goals in 11 Champions League games last season. That haul keeps him in demand across Europe. Tottenham is interested but lags behind Roma in the race because the North London club can’t yet guarantee a return to the competition.
Roma had to walk away from talks over Rashford’s €8.4 million net salary per year. Those wage demands are also scaring off other Serie A suitors. The England international is in the United States for the World Cup with his national team, so any move must wait until after the tournament.
Rashford’s next club must tick two boxes: Champions League football and a wage structure he’ll accept. Roma’s interest shows he’s still a hot target, but the money gap remains a major hurdle.
