Matthew Tkachuk Reunites with Brother Brady on Florida Panthers

Matthew Tkachuk is set to play alongside his brother Brady on the Florida Panthers after a trade with the Ottawa Senators.

The Panthers agreed to send four draft picks to the Senators for the 26-year-old left winger.

The deal was finalized late on Sunday, June 21, according to the Associated Press.

Brady had two years remaining on his seven-year, $57.5 million contract with the Senators.

The move marks the first time the brothers will play on the same team on the NHL level.

Panthers hockey operations president and general manager Bill Zito said Brady is a dynamic competitor.

Brady is one of the most physical and relentless forwards in the league, Zito added.

The brothers last played alongside one another for Team USA at the Milan Olympics.

Their mother, Chantal Tkachuk, recalled their sibling rivalry while growing up in St. Louis.

They were typical brothers: busy, competitive, Chantal said.

The Tkachuk brothers will now play together on the NHL level for the first time.

And they will strive to make everyone around them better both on and off the ice.

So the Panthers are thrilled to welcome Brady to South Florida.

Brady's contract with the Senators was worth $57.5 million over seven years.
