Micah Parsons Traded to Packers, Aims to Boost Team
Micah Parsons was traded to the Green Bay Packers 10 days before the 2025 season began. The Packers finished 9-8-1 overall and lost to the Chicago Bears in the Wild Card round.
The Packers had high expectations with Parsons on board but failed to deliver, collapsing late in games. They had double-digit leads in the final minutes twice against Chicago and also vs. Cleveland, yet went 0-3 in those games.
The Packers' odds of losing all three contests were 1-in-250,000. Safety Javon Bullard expressed frustration, saying the losses were "damn-near embarrassing."
Parsons' addition was expected to bolster the Packers' defense. However, the team's performance did not improve significantly, and they now enter 2026 with the league's fourth-longest losing streak.
The Packers were hit hard in free agency and didn't have a first-round draft pick. Their first training camp practice is July 29.
The Packers will count on players like Skyy Moore, a return man and wide receiver, to make an impact. Moore averaged 27.5 yards per kick return last year, ranking sixth in the NFL.
Moore also ranked seventh in the league on punt returns, with 11.6 yards per return. He offers little as a wide receiver, catching just five passes for 87 yards in 2025.
The Packers signed Moore as a free agent in March. He previously played for the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers.
Moore's speed and physicality make him a valuable asset to the team. He had a 98-yard kickoff return and a 66-yard punt return last season.
Green Bay ranked last in the NFL in punt return average in 2025, with 5.6 yards per return. They tied for 22nd in kickoff return average, with 25.2 yards per return.
The Packers hope Moore can help improve their special teams performance. With Parsons on defense, the team aims to rebound from their disappointing 2025 season.
