Mo Farah, the renowned track and field athlete, has spoken out about his difficult childhood.

He was born Hussein Abdi Kahin in Somalia in 1983 and his father died when he was four years old.

His mother and he were later separated, and he spent five years in Mogadishu before being illegally trafficked to London at the age of nine.

He was given the name Mo Farah and forced to work as a domestic servant, but his running talent was spotted when he attended school from the age of 12.

He joined the national British team in 1999 and rapidly rose to international prominence in the 5000m and 10,000m events.

Mo Farah has won four Olympic golds, six World Championship golds, and five European Championship golds, including the 2018 Chicago Marathon title.

He wanted to be honest with his children, who had asked him many questions over the years, and felt it was the right time to talk openly about his past.

Mo Farah's decision to share his story was a massive relief, and he credits his family and children for their support.

He now lives in London with his wife Tania, their 20-year-old stepdaughter Rhianna, and the couple’s 13-year-old twins Aisha and Amani, and nine-year-old son Hussein.

Mo Farah's story is one of resilience and determination, and he continues to inspire fans around the world with his achievements.
