Mohamed Salah's Agent Hints at Next Club as Liverpool Seek Replacement
Liverpool are over a month away from their opening Premier League game against Newcastle United, but the Reds are yet to make any significant signings. Mohamed Salah's agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, has hinted that the Egyptian forward's next club will soon be revealed.
What happened?
Salah's agent posted on social media that they still don't know where Mohamed will play next season, but it may be known very soon. This follows two previous posts by Abbas, where he stated that no one else knows where Salah will play next season.
Why it matters for Mohamed Salah
The lack of transfer activity has worried those who believe the club has a lot to do in a short space of time. Anfield exits this summer have included Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, and Ibrahima Konate. Losing three players of vast experience is a major blow for any club, and the Reds will have to react accordingly with time running out.
What comes next?
New Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola has confirmed that the club is in the market for a right winger to replace Salah. Iraola expects further arrivals this summer as he looks to shape his squad. The Reds have been linked with the likes of France international Bradley Barcola of PSG, Yankuba Minteh of Brighton, Koln teenager Said El Mala, and Matias Fernandez-Pardo of Lille.
Iraola stated that they cannot expect to sign a winger that is going to replace Mo Salah because otherwise they are preparing him to fail almost. "I think obviously we need someone in that area but probably will have different skills," Iraola said. "He can maybe complement the team in another way and we are working on that, definitely."
The Reds have been linked with several players, but Iraola is looking for someone who can assume more responsibility in terms of inside and outside the pitch. Some of the players they already have here also have to step up, Iraola added. They will for sure find themselves in an even more important position, and also they have to find solutions outside that can help the very good players they already have.
What's next for Mohamed Salah?
Salah's agent has suggested that his next destination is imminent. The Egyptian forward called time on a nine-year stay at Anfield in the summer when he reached a mutual agreement with the Reds to end his contract a year early and exit on a free transfer. Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal have been considered front-runners, along with MLS teams in the United States and Turkish trio Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, and Besiktas.
The players' agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, has suggested that Salah's next destination is imminent. Posting on social media, he said: "We still do not know where Mohamed will play next season by we may know very soon. It is not our style to have discussions with clubs that Mohamed wouldn’t want to play for, just for the sake of noise."
