Ons Jabeur Announces Pregnancy and Expecting First Baby

2026-06-25 · Ons Jabeur · Player Focus

Ons Jabeur, the #2 ranked women's tennis player, is pregnant with her first child, a baby boy. She announced the news on Instagram on Nov. 10.

The Tunisian tennis pro shared a video with her husband Karim Kamoun, a fitness trainer and former professional fencer, embracing and holding a tiny tennis racket and onesie.

The couple has been married since 2015. Jabeur wrote that her return to the court would have to "wait a little longer" because she's expecting a baby boy.

This news comes after Jabeur announced an indefinite hiatus from professional tennis in July, citing that she hadn't felt happy on court for some time.

She had sustained a shoulder injury in 2024 that forced her to withdraw from the U.S. Open and had made her comeback at this year's Australian Open.

The tennis world responded to Jabeur's announcement with excitement, including a "congratulations" from the official Wimbledon account and three heart-eyes emojis from Czech tennis star Karolína Muchová.

Greek tennis pro Maria Sakkari wrote, "OMG!!!! I'm so happy for you guys 🥹". Jabeur had seen significant tennis success, becoming the #2 ranked women's tennis player in the world in 2022 and advancing to the Wimbledon final, which she lost to Elena Rybakina.

She also played in the US Open final in 2022, losing to Iga Świątek, and returned to the Wimbledon final in 2023, losing to Marketa Vondrousova. In 2023, Jabeur won the WTA Finals, hosted in Mexico.

Jabeur had announced that she would donate a portion of her winnings to benefit people in Palestine, saying "I want peace in this world. That's it". The new addition to the family is expected soon, with Jabeur and Kamoun preparing to welcome their "tiniest teammate".

The couple shared a sweet video announcing their new addition to the family, with Beyoncé and Ed Sheeran's "Perfect" playing in the background. Jabeur and Kamoun are excited to start this new chapter in their lives.

Jabeur's fans are eagerly waiting to see her return to the court, but for now, they are happy to see her happy and starting a family. The exact date of the baby's arrival has not been announced, but Jabeur and Kamoun are surely excited to meet their new baby boy.

As Jabeur takes a break from professional tennis, she will surely be missed on the court. But her fans are happy to see her prioritize her family and health. Jabeur's pregnancy announcement has brought joy to the tennis world, and everyone is excited to see what the future holds for her and her family.
