Pedro Acosta Crashes in Brno MotoGP Sprint

2026-06-23 · Pedro Acosta · Player Focus

Pedro Acosta crashed out of the Brno MotoGP Sprint due to a technical issue with his rear ride height device.

The crash occurred at turn 11, where Acosta lost the front of his bike.

He was battling with Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi on their Aprilias at the time.

Acosta explained that the rear ride height device was locked, causing him to crash.

He said he was trying to bring it back to the standard position when he lost control.

The issue had been present from lap one, but Acosta didn't speculate on how much lap time it cost him.

Despite the issue, Acosta was competitive with the Aprilias, but it didn't raise his expectations for Sunday's grand prix.

He aims to finish in the top-five again, as he has stated at the beginning of the year.

Acosta spent the Sprint in Czechia battling for fifth place before the crash.

He apologized to his team, saying he maybe could have managed the issue differently.

Acosta will analyze what happened and move forward, focusing on Sunday's 20-lap grand prix.

He wants to be inside the top-five, which would be a good result for him.

The Spaniard had been dealing with the issue throughout the Sprint, but still managed to catch up to Bezzecchi.

As **Pedro Acosta** explained, when you're not focusing right, it's easy to make mistakes.

He had a big mistake with the device in turn three when Martin passed him.

Acosta was looking at his hands to try to understand what was going on.

He was trying to solve the problem, but it was too late.

The crash was a disappointing end to the Sprint for Acosta.

He will look to bounce back on Sunday.
