Phil Mickelson Accused of Inappropriate Sexual Behavior
Phil Mickelson's career is marred by allegations of inappropriate sexual behavior. On June 26, Skratch.golf reported multiple incidents, including showing a nude photo to Ashley Perez, wife of golfer Pat Perez, in 2015.
Mickelson allegedly showed Ashley a nude photo of himself and propositioned her when her husband was in the bathroom.
Ashley told her husband about the incident, and Pat has shared the story with others in the golf world. Mickelson apologized to Pat at least twice.
The Skratch report details another incident where Mickelson made inappropriate remarks to a woman and propositioned her "in graphic detail." The woman described the experience as feeling like "verbal rape."
Ashley Perez had a similar experience with Mickelson before the incident involving the nude photo. She described it as "incredibly inappropriate."
Mickelson's attorney, Tom Clare, denied the allegations and issued a statement admonishing the golf media for exploiting Mickelson's private life.
Clare stated that recycling mistakes Mickelson has already acknowledged as new reporting is reckless and pursued for clicks at the expense of truth.
The allegations have led to Mickelson being banned from a club near his San Diego home after accusations of inappropriately touching a female employee. He also withdrew from the British Open, marking the first time since 2009 that he won't play the final major of the season.
The British Open is scheduled to take place from July 16-19 at Royal Birkdale in England. Mickelson was the face of LIV Golf after being one of its biggest recruiters during its launch in 2022.
Mickelson has played once for LIV Golf. His wife, Amy, and he have been married for 30 years and have three children.
The incident at The Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe occurred in the spring, and Mickelson is no longer welcomed at the club where he has practiced for many years.
Mickelson owned a one-bedroom condo on the second story of the clubhouse at the Madison Club in La Quinta, California. Multiple members and employees of the club told Skratch that Mickelson regularly had at least one woman who was not his wife spend the night in his condo.
