Phil Mickelson Apologizes Amid Explicit Photo Allegations

Phil Mickelson apologized to Pat Perez on two separate occasions for his behavior, including a lengthy phone call, after allegations surfaced that he showed an explicit photo to Ashley Perez in 2015.

Ashley Perez, the ex-wife of pro golfer Pat Perez, addressed public support she received after a Skratch report alleged that Phil Mickelson tried to seduce her in 2015.

The report said that Ashley claimed Mickelson showed her a full-body picture of himself naked with an erection while flexing one bicep, and told her, "I'm going to leave my bedroom door open tonight. When Pat falls asleep I want you to come see me."

Mickelson's attorney, Tom Clare, called the report "reckless" in a statement, saying that recycling mistakes he has already acknowledged as new reporting, and dragging private family matters into public view, is reckless.

Mickelson has been married to his wife Amy for 30 years, and his attorney said that some of the allegations circulating about him are false, and others revisit mistakes he has already acknowledged, publicly or privately.

Ashley Perez filed for divorce from Pat Perez in November 2023, and has spoken out on social media about the allegations, saying that her heart goes out to the countless other victims.

Mickelson's spokeswoman said that recovery is not a straight line, and that his wife, Amy Mickelson, has supported him and their family with extraordinary grace throughout their 35-year relationship.

On Friday, Alan Shipnuck wrote in the Skratch report that Mickelson alternated between contrition and saying he didn’t remember the details of that night during the 26-minute phone call with Pat Perez.

The phone call took place after Perez's comments during a November 2022 podcast that he had "a different hate for Phil than most people," and Mickelson's attorney said that the report did not include his statement, despite sending it to the outlet prior to publication.

Ashley Perez posted a photo of herself in Las Vegas wearing a bedazzled jumpsuit on Instagram, saying that she will rise up and stand next to the millions of women who have been silenced to protect the evil and darkness that lurks amongst us.

The allegations against Phil Mickelson have sparked a reaction from his team, with his attorney and spokeswoman defending him against the claims, and saying that he has already acknowledged and apologized for his mistakes.
