Phil Mickelson Denies Wife's Involvement in Allegations

2026-07-07 · Phil Mickelson · Player Focus

Phil Mickelson's representative spoke out against recent allegations on June 26, claiming his wife Amy did not request his membership cancellation at the Madison Club.

Mickelson's spokesperson stated that Amy Mickelson is not a public figure and did not choose the spotlight, despite Skratch Golf's claims that she is a driving force behind the Amy and Phil Mickelson Charitable Foundation.

Skratch Golf argued that Amy Mickelson is a public figure due to her involvement in the foundation and past interviews with prominent publications.

The allegations suggest that Phil Mickelson escaped to illicit escapades, deceiving his wife, who tracked his phone from the clubhouse, by handing it to club members on the course.

Mickelson's spokesperson denied these claims, stating that Shipnuck's reporting suggests a sinister intent behind an ordinary 'Find My' family feature.

Phil Mickelson has stayed away from the public since the LIV Golf South Africa event in March, citing a family health matter as the reason for his withdrawal from all four majors this season.

His son was going through a health problem in March, and Mickelson stated that he needs to give his full attention to this private matter.

Amy Mickelson has also been away from the public for close to five years, last making a public appearance during the 2021 Ryder Cup.

Tom Clare, a defamation attorney hired by Mickelson, claimed that despite the recent allegations, Amy still stands with him, showing unwavering support for her husband.

Clare reiterated that Mickelson's priority is to become the husband, father, and man his family deserves, and that he is currently focused on a private family health matter.
