Quinton de Kock Returns to ODI Cricket for South Africa
Quinton de Kock has reversed his retirement from one-day international cricket, and was included in South Africa's squad for upcoming matches against Pakistan.
De Kock quit ODIs after the Cricket World Cup in 2023, but is now set for an ODI return in a three-match series against Pakistan.
The 32-year-old opener will also play in the T20 format, having already been named in the T20 squad.
De Kock's return to the ODI format may be motivated by the 2027 Cricket World Cup, which South Africa will host.
The tournament could be a key factor in De Kock's decision to come out of retirement.
South Africa will play two test matches and three T20s against Pakistan, in addition to the three-match ODI series.
Aiden Markram will lead the team for the test matches, as Temba Bavuma recovers from a calf strain.
De Kock hasn't played for his country in the T20 format since the T20 World Cup final in June last year.
The series against Pakistan will be an important test for De Kock and the South African team.
The Proteas will be looking to perform well in the series, with the 2027 Cricket World Cup on the horizon.
De Kock's experience and skill will be crucial to the team's success.
The three-match ODI series will start soon, with De Kock set to play a key role.
