De Zerbi, who has a long-standing relationship with Juventus CEO Giovanni Carnevali, raised Richarlison’s name during recent talks with the Italian club. The two worked together at Sassuolo, and Carnevali asked De Zerbi about Spurs’ goalkeeping situation before the Brazilian’s future came up.

How Richarlison became Juventus’ target

Juventus’ pursuit of Guglielmo Vicario stalled again this summer, mirroring their failed attempt last year. Richarlison has now emerged as a firm alternative for the Serie A side, with De Zerbi’s team valuing the striker between €20m and €25m.

Tottenham want the fee to be low enough to avoid a capital loss on their books. Richarlison has only one year left on his contract and is approaching 30, making him a low-risk asset for a potential buyer. Spurs spent heavily this summer, so a sale could help balance their books.

What Richarlison’s exit means for Tottenham

The striker has scored 32 goals in all competitions for Spurs since joining from Everton in 2023. His 2025/26 season saw 11 goals in a frustrating campaign, and he never established himself as the club’s first-choice striker.

With his contract expiring next summer, Spurs could recoup some value while clearing wage space. De Zerbi’s push for a sale suggests the club no longer views Richarlison as part of their long-term plans.

When will the move happen?

Juventus’ interest is the most concrete so far, but no deal is imminent. The Italian club’s pursuit of Vicario remains unresolved, and Richarlison’s €20-25m price tag is lower than what PSG demands for Randal Kolo Muani.

If Juventus finalize a deal, Spurs would gain financial flexibility for further transfers. De Zerbi’s relationship with Carnevali could fast-track negotiations, but Richarlison’s future remains fluid for now.
