Ross Chastain Wins NASCAR O'Reilly Series Race at Charlotte

2026-06-23 · Ross Chastain · Match Report

Ross Chastain was declared the winner of the Charbroil 300 NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series race on May 23 at Charlotte Motor Speedway following 91 laps.

The race was run under caution for the final 17 laps due to fog and mist setting onto the track, with Chastain as the leader.

NASCAR elected to call the race after the completion of the second stage, at 90 laps.

Jesse Love, who finished second, expressed disappointment with the decision, calling it "a complete joke" in an interview with the CW Network.

The conditions made it difficult for NASCAR to continue the race, with the Truck Series race also needing to be run.

Chastain was among a handful of drivers who slapped the wall on Lap 73 after fluid was dropped on the track, producing the final caution.

He managed to maintain his lead despite the challenges, taking the win under red flag conditions.

The top 10 finishers included Ross Chastain, Jesse Love, Austin Hill, William Sawalich, Corey Day, Connor Zilisch, Ryan Sieg, Cole Custer, Carson Kvapil, and Rajah Caruth.

Chastain's win marked a significant achievement in the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series.

And his victory was celebrated with a nod to Kyle Busch, as Chastain bowed in victory lane.

But the win was not without controversy, with some drivers expressing frustration with the decision to call the race.

So the focus now shifts to the next race, with Chastain looking to build on his momentum.

The Charbroil 300 was a challenging race, with multiple cautions and difficult track conditions.

Chastain's ability to adapt and perform under pressure was key to his success.

As the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series continues, Chastain will look to maintain his position and contend for the championship.

With his win at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Chastain has established himself as a top competitor in the series.
