Sepp Kuss, the American road cyclist, was celebrated in his hometown of Durango, Colorado, with a massive parade on Thursday, October 19.

The line to meet Kuss stretched out of Buckley Park and across 13th street, with fans like Maggie Foose and Van Di Bernardino waiting to meet him.

Kuss, who grew up in Durango, was greeted by hundreds of fans, including children who admired his historic victory at the Vuelta a España.

He autographed jerseys and took photos with fans, including the Kleinsmith family, who wore matching red bike kits.

The parade was a testament to Kuss's impact on the community, with Durango Mayor Melissa Youssef fast-tracking the plan to support him.

Kuss's mother, Sabina Kuss, was also in attendance, walking the family dog and distributing prints of a painting she had done of Sepp aboard his time trial bike.

The event was organized by a small group of event producers, who secured a stage, food trucks, live music, and entertainment, with over 3 million social impressions in the first few days.

Notable cyclists from Durango's past and present, including Ned Overend and Todd Wells, were also in attendance.
